Vehicle mounted winch

A winch mounted to your vehicle can be a very useful tool. But the risks involved are high. Booking yourself or staff members onto a training course can be very beneficial. It can reduce risk and also give you advice and skills to make the task of winching more efficient.

Winches can be powered by the vehicle itself. They can also be hydraulic - the most common type of winch is an electric winch. Our course will help you to get the best from your winch and operate it safely. We will also show you accessories that you should have to make the winch work more efficiently and to help keep you safe.

At Training 4 Off-Road we offer a BORDA Vehicle mounted winch course.

Please note: A 4x4 driving qualification is recommended for trainees attending this course.

The course will cover:

Identifying the load ratings of the winch and also other equipment used in conjunction with the winch.
Understanding and calculating loads that can be exerted onto the winch and other equipment.
Learning how to reduce the load on the winch.
Following safe means of operation to keep all involved safe.
The use of good clear communication.

The training ratios are 2 people minimum and 6 people maximum.

The course is one day in duration.
